This lovely carafe was used for serving water that was mixed with absinthe. The slogan of "Bleue" brand absinthe was "Buvez une Bleue." A fun piece to display with a collection of antique glassware.

Absinthe, known as "la fee verte" or the green fairy, experienced popularity during France's Belle Époque but was banned in 1915 due to fears over its psychoactive effects and associations with social disorder.
